Quality Inspection in China
A quality inspection in China lets you know the state of your order before you pay the balance and before it leaves the factory, while it can still be fixed. At R'S WARE our inspectors check the goods at the factory itself using objective criteria (AQL sampling) and send you a report with photos and video.
Types of quality inspection
Depending on the production stage:
- Pre-shipment inspection (PSI): with production finished and at least 80 % packed. This is the most common.
- During production inspection (DUPRO): with at least 10 % produced, to catch problems in time.
- Container loading supervision: we check the condition of the container, the quantities and that what is loaded is what you paid for.
What we check
- That the product matches the specifications and the approved sample.
- Materials, dimensions, colours and finishes.
- Functionality and product-specific tests.
- Labelling, marking and packaging.
- Quantities per carton and for the whole order.
- Defects classified as critical, major and minor under the AQL standard (ISO 2859).
The inspection report
Once the service is booked and the supplier has been checked beforehand, you receive the report within 24-48 hours of the inspection: AQL result, photos and video, measurements and the list of defects found. With it you decide whether to authorise payment of the remaining 70 %, ask for corrections or reject the batch.
Why inspect before you pay
Once an order has been paid for and shipped, making a claim against a factory in China is slow and difficult. An inspection costs far less than a container full of defects, a return or a product you can't sell.

What is an AQL quality inspection?
It is a check based on a statistical standard (ISO 2859) that defines how many units are reviewed and how many defects are tolerated for a given batch size. It lets you accept or reject an order on objective grounds.
When is the inspection carried out?
It can be done during production, before shipment, or both. The most common is the pre-shipment inspection (PSI), with the goods already finished and packed.
What does the inspection report include?
A detailed report with photographs, measurements, quantity checks, functionality and packaging, plus the AQL result. You receive it before authorising the final payment.
How long does it take to receive the report?
Between 24 and 48 hours after the inspection, provided the service has been booked and we have checked the supplier beforehand.
What happens if the inspection fails?
We explain the defects and your options: the factory repairs or replaces the units followed by a re-inspection, you negotiate a discount, or you reject the batch. The balance isn't paid until you decide.
